The last two weeks have been surprisingly tough for my motivation and ability to “push through the friction”.

You know all about the friction- The feeling of not wanting to, the procrastination goblin forcing your thumb to just keep scrolling.

Well goblin has been decidedly winning the past 2 weeks.

Defending your routines defeats the goblins. For me, that means continuing to wake up early, even if I’m not productive and don’t want to.

Just as important is to go to bed early as well. I am old now, and poor sleep brings all the goblins out.

The nice thing is, today I am ready to rick and roll- decent sleep, woke up early, the routine making my morning smooth.

To wit, I continued on with the CreateMotif musical strategy. There is an entire system here waiting to be pulled out, but for now I’m trying to drive straight down the critical line- get this “bad” version working, then expand.

So now, I have the data mooostly arranged to be able to return an actual value.

I can now expand this logic to include musical tension, forming (and returning) a musical motif.

It feels good to want to work on this stuff.
